Anthony Purvis is Head of Employment at Waterfront Law and has advised his clients on all aspects of employment law for more than 15 years.
I’ve been an employment specialist since 2009 and I’m fortunate to love my job, which I have carried out at Waterfront Law since 2012. I really enjoy helping my clients through the various legal challenges that arise in the workplace; sharing a win with a client is the best feeling.
My aim is always to provide real-world commercial and pragmatic guidance, to be responsive to my clients’ needs and to make my clients better off for having worked with me. I am determined and robust when it is called for, whilst being a supportive and calm sounding board during what can be difficult and stressful times.
My practice covers the lifespan of the employment relationship – from recruitment, through to the management of performance and conduct issues, and on to dismissals and Employment Tribunal and High Court litigation. I act for global businesses, start ups and everything in between, and I regularly represent individuals as well.
I’m a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and I often provide training and write articles on employment and HR law (I have been published in The Times).
I enjoy a board or card game, be that a classic like Scrabble or Articulate or some of the games that have been developed more recently, like Monopoly Deal, Jaipur of The Chameleon. If you haven’t heard of any of these, you should try them!
Anthony was very responsive, professional and a pleasure to deal with. His expertise helped us to reach a satisfactory outcome in a short amount of time.
Anthony Purvis met with me. Having explained my situation to him, he was so kind, so supportive. It was over a six-month battle of negotiations and finally I got a call from him to say that my employer agreed, finally, to settle out of court.
We have turned to Waterfront for advice on HR issues for several years now. We find their lawyers to be very knowledgeable, responsive and able to find practical solutions to the HR challenges we face as a large organisation.
