We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our practice administration team to assist with the smooth day to day running of the office, providing admin and some occasional paralegal support to the legal teams.

The role would suit an individual seeking the opportunity to gain experience specifically within a law firm, with a possibility of leading to career progression where qualified. The successful candidate will report to the firm’s Partners and Practice Manager, assisting across all teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Dealing with external emails ensuring these are passed to the appropriate team.
  • Answering telephones, relaying messages.
  • Office reception duties
  • Arranging meeting room bookings, greeting clients, arranging refreshments.
  • Assisting with networking events
  • Purchasing stationery and office supplies
  • Managing incoming and outgoing post
  • Photocopying and scanning documents
  • Dealing with IT enquiries and liaising with our IT providers
  • Liaising with a number of external suppliers
  • Conducting Know Your Client checks
  • Producing Client engagement letters
  • Using the case management and document filing systems for the setup of client matters
  • Occasional legal research, proof reading and drafting various legal documents
  • Preparing court bundles and compiling exhibits
  • Formatting and typing up documents
  • Archiving documents
  • Miscellaneous duties as required

Requirements include:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work with some level of flexibility
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, friendly telephone manner
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work in small teams or independently
  • High level of numeracy and literacy
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Interest in working in a legal environment with an emphasis on Waterfront’s areas of expertise
  • Prior experience in a legal or professional services environment would be advantageous

Flexibility is key as this post will require occasionally attending the office at short notice.

Our intention is for the position to be full time Monday to Friday but part time hours would be considered. The starting salary for the successful candidate will be circa £26,500 depending on prior experience.
