Boris Petri

Boris is an Associate in the IP and Disputes team. He assists with contentious and non-contentious matters including trade mark, design, copyright, and patent infringement, alongside other commercial disputes.

Boris has advised a range of SMEs on their brand protection strategies, and individuals on protecting their intellectual property rights. He has experience of dealing with IP aspects of corporate transactions, and drafting licensing/assignment agreements. Aside from IP matters, Boris also has experience in other areas of dispute resolution including debt recovery, insolvency, and property litigation.

Boris joined Waterfront in February 2025. Prior to joining Waterfront, Boris worked in the Dispute Resolution team at Downs Solicitors LLP where he also completed his training contract.

Boris obtained the Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary, University of London in 2023 and is also a member of IPSOC (society for junior IP practitioners).

Boris enjoys playing squash, padel tennis, and travelling in his free time. He also enjoys learning languages and speaks Italian, Bulgarian, French and Mandarin Chinese.
